Refreshing and packed with nutrient-rich ingredients, this Grapefruit Smoothie offers a delicious way to support liver health. With natural detoxifiers like grapefruit, kefir, and coconut water, it’s a rejuvenating drink that’s quick and easy to prepare.

  • Total Time: 10 mins.
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 large grapefruit, peeled
  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled with stems removed
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup plain, low-fat kefir
  • 12 tablespoons pure, unfiltered honey
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut water
  • Ice
  • Unsweetened shredded coconut, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a high-powered blender, combine all ingredients except shredded coconut and blend until smooth. Add unsweetened coconut water as needed.
  2. Taste the grapefruit smoothie and adjust the sweetness and thickness, as needed.
  3. Pour into two 16-ounce glasses or four 8-ounce glasses and serve immediately.

Notes

Grapefruit tends to be bitter. Choose ruby red or pink grapefruits, which lean on the sweeter side. If your smoothie is still too bitter for your tastebuds, add honey and/or pineapple chunks.
